Detox & Drain

Lymphatic Drainage Massage

Detox and drain is a specialised lymphatic drainage massage plus contouring of the body. Leah and Louise have had extensive training in this and Leah has trained with the Contour Academy in Cheshire who trademarked ” detox and drain”

The massage technique is a combined treatment of manual lymphatic drainage and the detox and drain signature detox massage. This consists of a lymphatic drainage massage and a specific focus on detoxing the abdominal area to achieve a flatter, sculpted stomach or more sculpted arms or legs.

Detox and drain massages are renowned for their benefits in enhancing overall well-being by helping remove toxins from the body. They can aid in body contouring and are ideal for reducing bloating before an event or holiday. These massages are also beneficial for alleviating water retention and the effects of flying when you return from a trip.

These treatments are good for:

  • water weight reduction,
  • post-surgery swelling,
  • immune boosting
  • improving circulation.
  • Contouring areas of the body such as the stomach or legs

What Are The Benefits?

  • Lymphatic system stimulation: These massages often focus on stimulating the lymphatic system, which plays a crucial role in eliminating waste and toxins from the body. By promoting lymphatic flow, a detox and drain massage may help remove toxins and excess fluids, reducing water retention and promoting detoxification.
  • Enhanced circulation: Massages can improve blood circulation, allowing for better oxygenation and nutrient delivery to the body’s cells. By increasing circulation, a detox and drain massage may support the removal of metabolic waste products from tissues, contributing to overall detoxification.
  • Reduced swelling and inflammation: Lymphatic drainage techniques used in these massages can help reduce swelling and inflammation in the body. By promoting the removal of excess fluid and toxins from tissues, they may assist in relieving conditions such as oedema, bloating, and post-surgical swelling.
  • Relaxation and stress relief: Like other types of massages, detox and drain massages can induce relaxation, promoting stress relief and overall well-being. The gentle and rhythmic motions involved in these massages can help calm the nervous system, reduce anxiety, and improve sleep quality.
  • Improved immune function: Supporting the lymphatic system through massage may positively impact immune function. A healthy lymphatic system helps defend the body against infections and boosts the immune response by transporting immune cells and antibodies throughout the body.
  • Skin health benefits: Detox and drain massages can potentially improve skin health by enhancing blood circulation and stimulating the flow of nutrients to the skin. This may result in a healthier complexion, increased skin elasticity, and a reduction in the appearance of cellulite.

Why is it so beneficial after cosmetic procedures?

After cosmetic surgery, such as a tummy tuck or liposuction, a speedy recovery is desired. Along with rest and following post-operative instructions, lymphatic drainage massage can help accelerate the healing process and provide quicker results.

Lymphatic massage works by stimulating the lymphatic system, which helps maintain fluid levels, supports the immune system, and promotes circulation. When the lymphatic system isn’t functioning optimally, excess fluid builds up in the body, leading to swelling and discomfort. Lymphatic drainage massage manually pushes lymph through the body, reducing swelling and removing excess fluid.

There are several benefits of manual lymphatic drainage, including efficient healing, stress relief, reduced scar formation, elimination of waste from tissues, decreased swelling and fluid retention, and improved skin quality.

After cosmetic surgery, swelling is a common side effect. Lymphatic massage is important in reducing swelling by moving accumulated fluid back into the lymphatic passages, preventing the formation of scar tissue and promoting a faster recovery. Many doctors highly recommend lymphatic drainage after surgery to ensure patient comfort and achieve optimal results.

Intra Oral Massage

Do you suffer from tension in your jaw, headaches, masseter pain,
tightness or stress? This is for you!

What is it?

Intraoral or ‘buccal’ massage involves a therapist using a gloved finger to squeeze, stroke and massage muscles and tissue from inside your mouth. “’Buccal’ has become popular as a term to describe inter-oral work but it’s actually the name of a muscle that holds a lot of tension and is therefore where the treatment can be focused, The sculpting effect is a really popular anti-ageing benefit, but also a major factor when you have buccal treatment is the release of muscle tension, as most of us tend to hold stress in this area.

How does it work?

When you remove tension and stress from muscle tissue and stimulate the lymph system, it allows muscles to soften, Freeing muscle from heaviness adds volume and bounce, which in turn makes muscles sit in their natural space, adding to a more contoured, sculpted effect. When you work on the face, you address all the muscles but you also have the possibility to work under them. It’s more intensive but more effective; you increase blood circulation, which means more oxygen, which increases glow in the face, and helps the muscles to work properly. It also increases collagen production.  We focus on the jawline and cheek muscle area, but also under the cheekbones where tension and puffiness sits, Also, working on the lymph nodes around the mouth and lip area allows better cell rejuvenation and softer upper lip muscles which improve the ageing lines. When you remove the tension it releases the muscle and any pollution, puffiness and tightness. It also releases any emotional stress which we hold in this area.
