Alumier MD Peels

What are facial peels?

A chemical peel is a skin treatment designed to enhance texture and tone. By applying an acid to the skin, the pH level is lowered, which loosens the connections between dead skin cells. This process induces exfoliation and stimulates new cell growth, causing the superficial layers of dead skin to peel off and revealing a smoother, more radiant complexion. Chemical peels also thicken the epidermis, increase dermal volume, and stimulate collagen production.

Chemical peels have a long history, dating back to ancient times. Cleopatra famously used sour milk, which contains lactic acid (an alpha hydroxy acid), to improve her skin’s appearance.

We offer light to medium-depth AlumierMD chemical peels, renowned for their excellent results and safety profile.

Chemical peels enhance skin texture and firmness, reduce fine lines and wrinkles, even out skin tone, improve acne-prone skin, and reduce the appearance of pores.

They can be used on the face, but may also be used on the neck, decollete,
back and hands.

Packages for Peels and Micro needling are available

Typically, no. You may experience mild redness depending on what’s included (e.g., chemical peel), but this fades quickly. Louise will advise based on your skin’s response.

Yes – most clients see an immediate glow, plumper skin and reduced puffiness. Longer-term improvements (tone, texture, breakouts) build with consistency and your home care routine.

Absolutely – one of the benefits of a customised facial is that it’s safe and effective for even the most sensitive or reactive skin types.

This depends on your skin goals. For general maintenance and glow, every 4–6 weeks is ideal. For more intensive concerns (acne, pigmentation), Louise will advise a treatment plan.

Microneedling

What is Microneedling?

Microneedling is a cutting-edge skincare treatment that uses a pen with tiny, sterile needles to create controlled micro-injuries on the skin. This process stimulates the skin’s natural healing response, boosting collagen and elastin production. The result is smoother, firmer, and more vibrant skin with reduced wrinkles, scars, and hyperpigmentation.

Why Choose the Microneedling Pen?

Precision Engineering: Our microneedling pen is crafted with advanced technology for optimal performance and safety.

Adjustable Needle Length: The pen features adjustable needle lengths, allowing us to customize treatments to your skin’s specific needs.

Versatile Applications: It addresses various skin concerns, including fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, stretch marks, hyperpigmentation, and uneven texture, making it a comprehensive rejuvenation solution.

Enhanced Absorption: The microchannels created by the pen improve the absorption and effectiveness of skincare products, helping them penetrate deeper and work better.

Safe and Hygienic: We use disposable needle cartridges to ensure each treatment is sterile and contamination-free.

Dermaplaning

What is Dermaplaning?

Dermaplaning is a cosmetic procedure that uses a scalpel to gently remove the top layer of dead skin cells and fine vellus hair, or “peach fuzz,” from the face.

Typically, you can use dermaplaning as a standalone pre-treatment for other skincare treatments, like chemical peels, to enhance their effectiveness. It can also be part of a regular skincare routine to maintain healthy, glowing skin.

Benefits of Dermaplaning

Exfoliation: Removes dead skin cells, improving skin texture and tone, and reducing the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and acne scars.

Smoother Skin: Makes skin appear smoother and more radiant by eliminating the dull, outer layer.

Better Product Absorption: Allows skincare products to penetrate deeper and work more effectively.

No Downtime: Unlike some other treatments, dermaplaning is typically painless and requires no recovery time.

LED Light Therapy

LED light therapy is a non-invasive skincare treatment that uses varying wavelengths of light-emitting diodes (LEDs) to address various skin issues.

It is a versatile and effective treatment for various skin conditions, offering numerous benefits with minimal risks. It can be used as a standalone treatment or in conjunction with other therapies to enhance results.

Benefits;

Anti-Ageing: Red light therapy boosts collagen and elastin production, reducing the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines.

Acne Treatment: Blue light kills acne-causing bacteria, reducing breakouts and inflammation.

Skin Tone Improvement: Green light therapy helps to reduce pigmentation issues, giving the skin a more even tone.

Wound Healing: LED light therapy can speed up the healing process of wounds and reduce scarring.

Reduction of Redness and Inflammation: Yellow light therapy helps to calm and soothe irritated skin.

The procedure;

The procedure is generally simple and painless:

Cleansing: The skin is thoroughly cleaned.
Preparation: Protective eyewear is provided to shield the eyes from the bright light.
Treatment: The LED device is positioned over the treatment area for a set period, usually between 15 to 30 minutes.
Aftercare: No downtime is required, and normal activities can be resumed immediately.

Plasma Fibroblast

What is Plasma Fibroblast?

Plasma fibroblast is a non-surgical cosmetic procedure that uses a device emitting a plasma flash to address various skin concerns. The plasma flash creates tiny controlled injuries in the skin, which trigger the body’s natural healing process and promote collagen and elastin production, essential for skin elasticity and firmness.

What Can Plasma Fibroblast Treat?

  • Fine Lines and Wrinkles: Reduces the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines, especially around the eyes, mouth, and forehead.
  • Sagging Skin: Tightens loose, sagging skin on the face, neck, and body.
  • Scars: Minimizes the appearance of acne scars and other types of scars.
  • Pigmentation: Treats hyperpigmentation, age spots, and other skin discolorations.
  • Stretch Marks: Improves the appearance of stretch marks.

The procedure;

The procedure involves applying a numbing cream to the treatment area before to create controlled injuries to the skin. Treatment can take anywhere from 30 minutes to a few hours, depending on the size of the area being treated.

After the procedure, patients may experience some redness, swelling, and scabbing, which typically lasts for a few days to a week. It is important to follow the aftercare instructions provided, to ensure proper healing.

It is generally considered safe, but there are some risks associated with the procedure, including infection, scarring, and hyperpigmentation.

Overall, it can be an effective non-surgical option for those looking to improve the appearance of their skin.

PRP Facial

What is a PRP Facial (Vampire Facial)?

This groundbreaking treatment is an autologous procedure, meaning it uses material from your own body. A small amount of blood is drawn and processed with a centrifuge to separate the platelet-rich plasma (PRP) from the rest of the blood. Platelets are rich in growth factors that stimulate cell turnover, collagen production, and tissue regeneration.

PRP can be used in various treatments, including cosmetic procedures like the ‘vampire facial,’ which helps reduce wrinkles and lines, tackle blemishes, improve scarring, and restore a healthy, youthful glow. PRP is also effective for treating hair loss by injecting the patient’s own concentrated platelet-rich plasma into the hair follicles, stimulating and reactivating dormant or weakened follicles to produce thicker and healthier hair.

Beyond cosmetic benefits, PRP can also treat musculoskeletal injuries and conditions such as frozen shoulder, jumper’s knee, and osteoarthritis, which often take a long time to heal. Injecting PRP into the affected area can help stimulate the healing process, decrease pain, reduce inflammation, and enable a quicker return to activities.

Benefits of PRP Therapy

  • Improves skin texture and reduces fine lines and wrinkles.
  • Plumps areas like tear-through grooves, cheeks, and temples.
  • Enhances the body’s natural healing processes, beneficial for post-cosmetic procedures.
  • Promotes hair growth and improves healing when used alongside hair transplantation procedures.

The Procedure

  1. Blood Extraction: A small amount of blood is drawn from your arm, similar to a regular blood test.
  2. Platelet Separation: The blood goes into a centrifuge, which spins it at high speeds to separate its components and isolate the platelet-rich plasma (PRP).
  3. PRP Application: The PRP, rich in growth factors and proteins, is then applied to your face using injections.

PRP therapy is typically recommended as a series of treatments to achieve the best results.

Smooth Glowing Skin
Glass facial, smooth skin

The Glass Facial is ideal for those seeking a non-invasive solution to achieve a smooth, glowing, and youthful complexion. Whether you have an upcoming event or want to enhance your skin’s natural beauty, this treatment offers visible and lasting results.

The Glass Facial

A revolutionary treatment designed to give you a flawless, glass-like complexion. This advanced procedure combines micro-needling with a specially formulated cocktail of hyaluronic acid, vitamins, and other skin-nourishing ingredients. The result is smooth, radiant skin with a poreless, luminous finish.

Benefits include:

Smooth Skin Texture

Reduces the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and pores.

Hydration

Deeply hydrates the skin, leaving it plump and refreshed.

Anti-ageing

Stimulates collagen production for firmer, more youthful skin.

Radiant Complexion

Enhances skin luminosity and clarity.

How It Works:

Tiny needles create micro-channels in the skin, stimulating collagen production and enhancing the absorption of the nutrient-rich serum.

A custom blend of hyaluronic acid, vitamins, peptides, and other active ingredients is infused into the skin, providing deep hydration and rejuvenation.

Collagen Boost: The treatment promotes the natural production of collagen and elastin, essential for maintaining youthful, firm skin.

Sculptra

Sculptra is an injectable used primarily to restore facial volume and reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. Unlike traditional hyaluronic acid-based fillers, Sculptra is made from poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), a biocompatible substance that stimulates the body’s natural collagen production over time.

Benefits include:

  1. Gradual Results: Sculptra doesn’t provide instant results like some other fillers. Instead, it works over time by encouraging collagen regeneration, which leads to a more natural-looking, youthful appearance as the skin gradually becomes firmer and smoother.

  2. Long-Lasting Effects: Because it stimulates collagen production, the results of Sculptra can last up to 2 years or longer, depending on the individual.

  3. Volume Restoration: It’s especially effective in restoring volume to areas that have lost fullness due to aging, such as the cheeks, temples, jawline, and under the eyes.

  4. Non-Surgical: Sculptra is a non-invasive procedure, making it a popular choice for people looking to enhance facial volume without the need for surgery.

Treatment typically requires multiple sessions spaced several weeks apart to achieve optimal results. While it can provide noticeable improvements, the process is gradual and results evolve over a few months.

Sculptra collagen

Sculptra’s main ingredient, poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), is a synthetic, biocompatible substance that has been used in medical applications, including sutures, for decades. When injected into the skin, PLLA doesn’t provide instant volume like hyaluronic acid fillers (e.g., Juvederm or Restylane) but rather works by stimulating your body’s natural production of collagen. Collagen is a key structural protein in your skin that helps maintain its firmness and elasticity.

As we age, collagen production slows down, leading to sagging skin, wrinkles, and volume loss. Sculptra’s PLLA microparticles are absorbed by the body, and over several weeks to months, they encourage the production of new collagen. This process gradually restores volume and smooths out wrinkles.

Sculptra is commonly used to treat:

  • Cheeks and temples: Adds volume to sunken or hollow areas, creating a fuller, youthful appearance.
  • Nasolabial folds (smile lines): Reduces the appearance of deep lines running from the nose to the mouth.
  • Marionette lines: Softens lines running from the corners of the mouth to the chin.
  • Jawline and chin area: Helps improve the contour of the jaw and chin, giving a more defined look.
  • Treatment Process
  1. Consultation: During your initial consultation, a qualified injector will assess your skin, discuss your concerns and aesthetic goals, and recommend the appropriate treatment plan.
  2. Injection: The treatment involves several small injections of Sculptra into targeted areas. The procedure is relatively quick, usually taking about 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the areas being treated.
  3. Post-Treatment Care: There’s minimal downtime, and you can usually return to normal activities immediately. However, it’s recommended to massage the treated areas for a few days after the treatment to help distribute the product evenly.

  • Gradual Improvement: Sculptra’s results don’t appear immediately. You may notice subtle improvements over a few weeks as the collagen-building process takes effect. Full results typically become visible after 2-3 months.
  • Long-Lasting: Results can last up to two years or longer because of the collagen stimulation. However, the longevity of the results can vary based on individual factors, such as age, lifestyle, and how your skin naturally ages.

  • Natural-Looking Results: Since it stimulates your body’s own collagen production, Sculptra provides a more natural and gradual enhancement, avoiding the “overfilled” look that sometimes occurs with other fillers.
  • Non-Surgical Alternative: It’s an excellent option for people who want to improve their appearance without undergoing surgery, making it less invasive than facelifts or other surgical options.
  • Versatility: Sculptra can treat a variety of areas that show signs of volume loss, such as deep lines, hollow cheeks, or sagging jawlines. It’s also useful for people with early or moderate signs of aging.

  • Common Side Effects: These are usually mild and can include swelling, redness, bruising, or tenderness at the injection site. These typically resolve within a few days.
  • Lumps or Bumps: A rare but possible side effect is the formation of small lumps under the skin. Massaging the area after treatment and following your provider’s aftercare instructions can help minimize this risk.
  • Infection or Allergic Reaction: As with any injectable, there’s a slight risk of infection or an allergic reaction, though these are very uncommon.

  • Sculptra is best suited for individuals who are experiencing volume loss due to aging or who have relatively mild to moderate signs of aging. It’s ideal for those who:

  • Want gradual, natural-looking results.
  • Are looking to address areas with volume loss, such as the cheeks or temples.
  • Prefer a non-surgical option for facial rejuvenation.
  • Are in generally good health and have realistic expectations.

  • Unlike hyaluronic acid-based fillers (which add immediate volume and hydration), Sculptra’s focus is on stimulating collagen over time. Here’s a quick comparison:

  • Hyaluronic acid fillers (e.g., Juvederm, Restylane) provide instant results but typically last 6-18 months.
  • Sculptra, on the other hand, takes a few months to show full results but can last up to two years due to collagen production.
  • Sculptra is also more suited for people looking for overall facial volume restoration, while hyaluronic acid fillers are better for targeting specific wrinkles and fine lines.

  • To maintain the results, some patients choose to have touch-up treatments every 1-2 years, depending on how their skin responds to the treatment and how much collagen their body continues to produce.

In summary, Sculptra is a long-lasting, gradual injectable that restores volume by stimulating collagen production, making it a great option for people looking for subtle, natural results. While it requires patience for full results, it offers significant improvements that can last for years.
