Lip Augmentation (also known as lip fillers) is a treatment to restore shape, volume and projection to the lip border and body. Multiple techniques can be used to create a bespoke treatment that meets each individual’s needs.
Lips can be subtly enhanced, to give more definition and volume. Fillers are a biocompatible hyaluronic acid which is an injectable filler used to enhance the shape and body of the lips. This can be used in the upper lip lines and lower lip lines to enhance the face and surrounding lip area. It adds volume, shape and definition to the lip, upturns the mouth corners and contours the lip body to create the perfect pout. You may opt for larger lips which are also possible after an examination of the lips has been undertaken (sometimes increasing the size of lips significantly might best be done as a two-stage process to allow the tissues to safely accommodate the new filler)
Two techniques we offer are the Russian technique and the Classic technique. Read below to find out the key differences between the two techniques.
The Russian technique creates a striking, heart-shaped lip with a well-defined cupid’s bow, inspired by the look of Russian nesting dolls for a beautifully contoured finish.
Volume Distribution
This method focuses on adding volume to the center of the lips, achieving a vertical lift that enhances the shape and creates a flat yet defined cupid’s bow.

Lip filler aftercare tip #1: Don’t expect initial fullness to stay the same.
Swelling after lip filler treatment is completely normal and therefore the size of your lips immediately after treatment is not a true reflection of the final result. Minor swelling can last between a few hours or day, possibly longer, depending on multiple factors. Don’t be disheartened that in a week or two, you feel like it has all gone! It will just be the swelling that’s disappeared not your filler.
Lip filler aftercare #2: How to reduce swelling after lip fillers.
Apply ice to treated area
Stay hydrated – drink plenty of water
Focus on eating healthy foods like fresh fruits & vegetables. The vitamins and minerals will assist with the healing process
Avoid strenuous exercise and extreme hot temperatures for 24-48 hours post treatment
Processed foods or fast foods
Heavy activity or exercise for the first two days after treatment
Excess salt – it makes you dehydrated!
Spicy foods
Blood-thinning medications, including aspirin and ibuprofen.
Smoking and smoke exposure
Lip filler aftercare tip #3: Don’t fly too soon after getting Cosmetic Injectables.
It’s important not to fly internationally for at least 2 weeks after getting cosmetic injectables. This ensures that our team can ensure you have a full recovery.
Lip filler aftercare tip #4: Leave plenty of time for injectables prior to a big event, like a wedding.
Like everything associated with a big event, it’s all about planning!
It’s always best to start a new treatment well before a big event. We recommend that you allow at least 3 weeks for your cosmetic injectable treatment to settle. If you’re a first time injectables client, we recommend 4-6 weeks prior to the event.
Remember, every client is different, and results can vary between individuals.
How long do lip fillers last?
Well that is a big question. Everybody is different with different metabolisms. Therefore, it’s hard to say however, most lip fillers last up to 6 months. But this does depend on lifestyle, stress, exercise and diet. We recommend follow ups from 6-12 months.
