Lip Augmentation

Enhanced Lip Volume

Lip Augmentation (also known as lip fillers) is a treatment to restore shape, volume and projection to the lip border and body. Multiple techniques can be used to create a bespoke treatment that meets each individual’s needs.

Lips can be subtly enhanced, to give more definition and volume. Fillers are a biocompatible hyaluronic acid which is an injectable filler used to enhance the shape and body of the lips. This can be used in the upper lip lines and lower lip lines to enhance the face and surrounding lip area. It adds volume, shape and definition to the lip, upturns the mouth corners and contours the lip body to create the perfect pout. You may opt for larger lips which are also possible after an examination of the lips has been undertaken (sometimes increasing the size of lips significantly might best be done as a two-stage process to allow the tissues to safely accommodate the new filler)

  • Results: Instant
  • Time: up to 15 minutes
  • Durability: Can last 6-12 months depending on the individual and lifestyle

Two techniques we offer are the Russian technique and the Classic technique. Read below to find out the key differences between the two techniques.

Classic Technique

The Classic lip enhancement technique is perfect for those looking to add subtle volume and achieve a fuller, rounded lip shape without compromising natural contours. By evenly distributing volume across both the upper and lower lips, this method provides a balanced, timeless look that enhances natural beauty.

Volume Distribution

  • This approach involves evenly spreading filler along the lips, ensuring proportional volume between the upper and lower lips.
  • Ideal for those with naturally thinner lips or individuals seeking an understated enhancement that doesn’t alter their overall facial aesthetics.

Injection Method

  • Placement: Fillers are carefully injected along the natural lip lines and the vermillion border, often following a horizontal pattern. This placement accentuates the lips’ natural curves and enhances definition.
  • Technique: The Classic method allows for larger amounts of filler to be injected during a single session, making it both a quick and effective option for achieving fuller lips in minimal time.

The Results

  • Look: The final appearance is full yet subtle, with a natural contour that maintains the original lip shape while adding volume.
  • Longevity: Results can last between 6-12 months, depending on individual factors and lifestyle choices.*
  • Suitability: This technique is ideal for those who desire classic, balanced lip enhancement—perfect for clients looking to subtly boost volume without a dramatic change.
Less Swelling, a more natural appearance

Russian Technique

A more dramatic, high-fashion look!

High-Definition Lips with a Heart-Shaped Curve

The Russian technique creates a striking, heart-shaped lip with a well-defined cupid’s bow, inspired by the look of Russian nesting dolls for a beautifully contoured finish.

Volume Distribution
This method focuses on adding volume to the center of the lips, achieving a vertical lift that enhances the shape and creates a flat yet defined cupid’s bow.

Injection Method

  • Placement: Filler is primarily injected into the central part of the lips, moving outward. The injections are often applied vertically, working from the lip border toward the interior for precise sculpting.
  • Technique: Using smaller amounts of filler per injection, this meticulous approach offers control and precision, giving the lips a defined, contoured shape. The Russian technique takes a bit more time than the classic style but delivers a more sculpted look.

Results

  • Look: The result is a highly contoured, doll-like appearance with enhanced, sharper lip edges. From the front, the lips look lifted and defined, while from the side, they may appear slightly flatter.
  • Suitability: Ideal for those desiring a bold, high-fashion look with a dramatic contour, especially for individuals with naturally defined lip structures.

Before And Aftercare

IMPORTANT

As much as I can give you solid advice, remember everyone is different, therefore, if you need further guidance, then please contact me directly.

Pre-care advice

avoid alcohol 24 hours before tour treatment.

Avoid aspirin, fish oils, omega 3 and ibuprofen 48 hours before your treatment.

Avoid facial treatments 2 weeks before your filler, including micro needling and peels.

Lip filler aftercare tip #1: Don’t expect initial fullness to stay the same.

Swelling after lip filler treatment is completely normal and therefore the size of your lips immediately after treatment is not a true reflection of the final result. Minor swelling can last between a few hours or day, possibly longer, depending on multiple factors. Don’t be disheartened that in a week or two, you feel like it has all gone! It will just be the swelling that’s disappeared not your filler.

Lip filler aftercare #2: How to reduce swelling after lip fillers.

Apply ice to treated area

Stay hydrated – drink plenty of water

Focus on eating healthy foods like fresh fruits & vegetables. The vitamins and minerals will assist with the healing process

Avoid strenuous exercise and extreme hot temperatures for 24-48 hours post treatment

Avoid:

Processed foods or fast foods

Heavy activity or exercise for the first two days after treatment

Excess salt – it makes you dehydrated!

Spicy foods

Blood-thinning medications, including aspirin and ibuprofen.

Smoking and smoke exposure

Lip filler aftercare tip #3: Don’t fly too soon after getting Cosmetic Injectables.

It’s important not to fly internationally for at least 2 weeks after getting cosmetic injectables. This ensures that our team can ensure you have a full recovery.

Lip filler aftercare tip #4: Leave plenty of time for injectables prior to a big event, like a wedding.

Like everything associated with a big event, it’s all about planning!

It’s always best to start a new treatment well before a big event. We recommend that you allow at least 3 weeks for your cosmetic injectable treatment to settle. If you’re a first time injectables client, we recommend 4-6 weeks prior to the event.

Remember, every client is different, and results can vary between individuals.

How long do lip fillers last?

Well that is a big question. Everybody is different with different metabolisms. Therefore, it’s hard to say however, most lip fillers last up to 6 months. But this does depend on lifestyle, stress, exercise and diet. We recommend follow ups from 6-12 months.

After care advice

Avoid alcohol for 24 Hours

Avoid sun exposure including sun beds for 2 weeks.

Avoid smoking and vapes for 4 hours after treatment.

Avoid heavy exercise for 48 Hours after.

Avoid blood thinning medications for 48 hours.

Do not wear any makeup for 12 hours following treatment.

Keep the area as clean as possible

Avoid Microneedling, peels and facial treatments for 2 weeks post procedure.

Arnica cream and tablets can be used to reduce bruising.

Bruising and swelling is a known side effect of fillers, predominantly in lip fillers. There will be increased swelling and bruising for the first 48-72 hours after. This should have subsided by 14 days and lumps and bumps should reduce and the filler should of settled. If this is not the case, please contact me.
